RAPD Variations in Actinidia chinensis Clones Collected from Mountainous Regions of China

Abstract
This study was carried out to determine the genetic variations of Actinidia chinensis as compared with cultivated cultivars of A. deliciosa by RAPDs. From 1993 to 1995, five early ripening clones of A. chinensis, ¢¥SKK 1¢¥(¡Ï), ¢¥SKK 2¢¥(¡Î), ¢¥SKK 3¢¥(¡Ï), ¢¥SKK 4¢¥(¡Î), ¢¥SKK 5¢¥(¡Ï) and one seedling (¢¥SKK 6¢¥) derived from ¢¥SKK 1¢¥, were collected from the mountainous region of Heping County, Guangdong Province, China. Seven primers out of 20 primers including OPBS (S¢¥-TGCGCCCTTC-3¢¥) produced different banding patterns for all twelve varieties and then six early ripening varieties were discerned from cultivated cultivars of A. deliciosa. The dendrogram splited into two main clusters, one containing all` the cultivated cultuvars of A. deliciosa plus the early varieties ¢¥SKK 5¢¥(¡Ï), and ¢¥SKK 6¢¥ and the other cluster containing 2 pistillates (¢¥SKK 1¢¥ and ¢¥SKK 3¢¥) and 1 staminates (¢¥SKK 2¢¥) of early varieties.
